The office of the Controller of Examinations started functioning since 2007-08. In Holy Cross College, evaluation has two components namely formative and summative. Formative assessment is the Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) and Summative assessment is the end semester examination.
The components of the formative assessments are the three monthly tests per semester for UG and PG students and two tests conducted in common for the M.Phil. Scholars. The other components are assignments, seminars, group discussions, debate, online quiz etc. CIA is mandatory for all students. The consolidated CIA marks are given to the students on the last working day of each semester.
