To motivate, initiate and promote quality and innovative research among the research community and create a culture of high achievement.
MESSAGE FROM THE RESEARCH COORDINATOR
Dr. M. Mary Freeda, Associte Professor of Physics
It is my pleasure to welcome the visitors to the website of our College, which provides information about the identity of the College, the activities and prospects of the Departments and the educational and research work.
In the last few years we have had many exciting changes transpiring in the College. The
Crossian Centre for Research and Development began functioning with the members of the Research Committee, Students Research Forum and Intellectual Property Rights Cell. It aims to assure our research investigators an environment that will enable them to be the best investigators they can be.
The Research Committee was launched in 2005 to serve as a focal point for research at the College and to provide investigators with the information and resources necessary for conducting research. The Committee seeks to motivate the faculty to take up minor and major projects; advocates the faculty, research scholars and students to attend seminars/ conferences/ workshops/ symposiums; and encourages paper presentations at national and international conferences.
To draw out the spirit of investigation of the academicians and to bring together the research scholars and faculty of arts and science to share and discuss their research findings on a common platform, the Research Forum organizes Seminars/ Workshops/ Conferences on multidisciplinary subjects every year. The research papers presented in the conferences are published in the proceedings with ISBN : 978-81-0261-2-6. Crossian Research Forum has link with Kanyakumari Academy of Arts and Science.
CROSSIAN RESONANCE, a multi-disciplinary biannual journal was launched in 2010, to reach research scholars from various cross-sections of society and to provide a platform to resonate scientific findings. 17 issues have been successfully brought forth.
The IPR cell was started in 2017 to provide training on patenting, trademark and copyrights to promote start-up. The IPR cell proposes to conduct a seminar cum workshop on copyright and give guidance to apply for copyright to both faculty and scholars.
Students Research Forum has been initiated in the year 2018 to foster in them the research mind to respond to the current social demands. The research activities in the Institution define the intellectual climate of our institution.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to bring in these developments. We look forward enthusiastically to continuing to grow and diversify our programs towards better serving our faculty and students.
