Holy Cross College was established in 1965 - the first women’s college in Kanyakumari district. It is a very prestigious college with a strong determination to empower women personally and professionally. I firmly believe that through education, women can fabricate an identity of their own. They can pursue their dreams and move ahead in their life with strong determination, respect, love, and faith. Under the efficient and committed management of the sisters of the Cross of Chavanod, the college continues to sow the seeds of education to women thereby nourishing them physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, and socially. A comfortable ambience is fashioned for them to outshine in curricular, co- curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Students are proffered a stimulating learning environment where they experiment and innovate new things exploring their true potential freely without any hindrances towards the unexplored path. The college has Holy Cross Innovation and Incubation Centre (HCIIC) through which we promote innovation and entrepreneurship to both faculty and students. Holy Cross College offers customised curriculum-based courses taking into consideration of international, national, regional, and local needs. The students are kept abreast of numerous careers which help them to hold their head high in the society as a successful entrepreneur or employees. Students are challenged with ample opportunities which make them to think critically. Slow learners are given special attention by the staff. Parents are encouraged to become active participants to build up a strong parent- teacher relationship. Every day is an achievement. Keeping this mantra in mind the students actively participate in various competitions conducted inside and outside the campus. The students are exposed to the essence of various festivities to develop a sense of togetherness. H. Share is introduced to students where they meet distressed people who have lost hope in their lives. This helps the college to shape them as a good citizen in the society.
