INTRODUCTION

        The Corporate Secretaryship department, established in  the year 2023, was created in response to the evolving needs of corporate governance and compliance. With increasing global emphasis on transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance, corporations required professionals skilled in managing legal, administrative, and regulatory affairs.

        The department was designed to equip students and professionals with knowledge in corporate laws, secretarial practices, governance, financial management, and business ethics. Its curriculum integrated theoretical frameworks with practical insights into corporate functioning, enabling graduates to handle roles such as Company Secretary, Compliance Officer, and Corporate Governance Consultant.

        Companies and organizations were increasingly recognizing the need for specialized professionals who could bridge the gap between management and compliance bodies, ensuring that corporate operations were aligned with laws and best practices. students were well-versed in current practices and had real-world exposure. Workshops, internships, and partnerships with corporations helped to cement its reputation as a premier destination for training future leaders in corporate governance and secretarial roles.

       As the corporate landscape continued to shift with technological advances and stricter compliance requirements, the department positioned itself as an essential part of the academic and professional ecosystem, shaping individuals to play critical roles in ensuring corporate accountability and ethical management.

ü  To develop professional skills and competencies in students.

ü  To act as a driving force for students to carryout research on contemporary issues in corporate sector.

ü  To initiate strategic approach in analysing and evaluating challenging problems and in decision making.

ü  To develop lateral thinking in students to be leaders of determination and commitment with global outlook.

 

OBJECTIVES

ü  Equip students with knowledge of corporate governance frameworks, principles, and best practices.

ü  Provide comprehensive knowledge of corporate laws and regulations, including Companies Acts, Securities Laws, and industry-specific regulations.

ü  Teach the role of corporate secretaries in financial disclosures, reporting of corporate governance practices, and ensuring timely communication to shareholders.
