INTRODUCTION
Established in 2024,
the Department of English Literature with Media Communication is committed to
fostering academic excellence and enhancing employability skills among
students. Our department consists of ten dedicated full-time faculty members,
four of whom have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET), and three have
successfully passed the State Eligibility Test (SET). Additionally, three of
our faculty members hold Doctoral Degrees, while three others are currently
pursuing their Ph.D.s at various universities.
To
further enrich our students’ learning experiences, we offer value-added courses
designed to improve their professional skills. We also encourage students to
participate in internship programs, helping them develop their individual
abilities while earning extra credits toward their curriculum. Our department
places a strong emphasis on research and publication, motivating students to
contribute to academic discourse by publishing papers and books.
Beyond
academics, we actively support our students in attending seminars and
participating in cultural activities, both within and outside the college.
Collaboration with our parent department is central to our mission, ensuring a
harmonious approach to all academic endeavors.

OBJECTIVES
After the completion
of the English Literature with Media Communication Course, our students will be
able to
ü To foster critical
thinking and analytical skills in students, enabling them to interpret and
evaluate literary texts and media communications effectively.
ü To equip students
with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to excel in
academic, professional, and personal spheres.
ü To explore the
universal human experiences and concerns through literature and media,
promoting empathy, understanding, and global perspectives.
ü To cultivate aesthetic appreciation and critical insight in students, enriching their understanding of literary and media texts, and their impact on society.
ü To prepare students for a dynamic media landscape, enabling them to navigate, create, and critically evaluate various forms of media communication, and apply literary concepts to real-world scenarios.

Mobilizing fund for HIV infected and affected student’s higher studies every year during November-December.
Conducting Income generated programme for marginalized people.
Conducting community organization and capacity building programme based on the felt need of the community people.
Conducting extension activities for the students, it can provide a link between the students and the community.
Conducting Street plays on recent social issues in rural villages.
