LEGAL LITERACY COMMITTEE
INTRODUCTION
Justice
stands as the cornerstone and fundamental goal of every civilized nation. The
primary objective of the law is to ensure justice, which is essential for the
orderly progress of society. Issues such as child labor and human trafficking,
which jeopardize public safety, often arise from a lack of awareness about
basic legal rights, civil liberties, human rights, and constitutional
protections. This ignorance prevents individuals from recognizing legal wrongs
and seeking redress through the legal system. Therefore, it is crucial to
promote legal awareness among the populace. The general public, especially the
youth, should be informed about the laws that govern them so they can become
responsible and law-abiding citizens. In this context, Legal Literacy Clubs in
schools and colleges are vital. They not only enhance legal literacy but also
empower young people to advocate for human rights and access to justice for
vulnerable groups effectively.
